I have recently discovered everything2.com. Actually, I discovered it about a year ago and registered, but haven't posted anything there until now. For those of you who don't know what it is, it's basically like wikipedia.com except way less professional and you can write about anything, and people can't edit it. Write ups get voted by readers.
My first write up was well received, voted up, and even got a cool point - which I guess is like a gold star. Every other write up so far has been voted down or deleted altogether - for various reasons. But for every reason they delete an article I can find a million articles that do the exact same thing. For example my article on "Animal Waste Reconstitution" (Turning animal waste into edible food) was deleted after about half a day because "it's not something that needs it's own node." Yet, all sorts of retarded things have their own node like "What do girls think about guys when they catch guys staring at their breasts, but the guy is actually trying to read her shirt?" How is my idea of animal waste reconstitution any less ridiculous than that? Plus, my first article that got cool pointed was about getting my arm surgically shortened. That's silly too. Bah - whatever.
I think this is the first time I've written an entry using LJ's web interface. I always use deepest sender...
